I read one response that you can remove dents from stainless steel appliances using heat then dry ice. Will this work on white appliances too?

We have a one year lease on a nice condo that is owned by one person and managed by another. All appliances were in the condo when we moved in- stove, refrigerator, washer and dryer. The washer and dryer are not mentioned in the lease, but we assumed that they were included as a part of the unit when we rented it. When the manager showed us the condo, she never mentioned anything about the washer and dryer. She showed it to us, and we assumed that it would be included and serviced as the stove or refrigerator would if either of them were to break. The dryer is now broken – it is literally burning anything up that goes into it – a huge fire hazard. We have called the manager several times to have it repaired, no one has shown up. We called yesterday, and the manager told us that the dryer does not go with the unit, and they aren't fixing it. She said it was trash that the owner left there when he moved out. Do we have legal recourse if I buy a dryer and take it out of the rent?
