I have used this fabulous cleaner called Simple Green for everything from pet stains to laundry and everything in between. It is a terrific all purpose type cleaner, too – for kitchen and bathroom counter tops, tables, using it for a mop bucket, in the car … everywhere! It cuts grease like crazy, too. I have used it to clean my oven when I have found ordinary oven cleaners to be below par. I would suggest trying a diluted application of Simple Green first. Maybe one part cleaner to two or three parts water. Spray and let soak for a few minutes then put some elbow grease into it and see what happens. Try not to let any of the greasey build up run down to the bottom of the dishwasher to the filter type area (where the water tends to spray out and such). I would think that would only lead to more clogs. If that doesn’t seem to cut it, use the Simple Green full strength. It isn’t going to harm anything in your dishwasher, and it smells pretty good for a cleaner, too. It would be worth a shot …
Hope you get the mess cleaned up! Tell your husband not to do that again! A good hose and nozzle work better than anything!
I agree with the first answer Simple Green. It is a safe product non toxic. I use it in my own home.
i would run it on a hot wash with the usual washing tablet next time let hubby wash it in the sink by hand
wash a couple of empty loads through with 2 cups of straight vinegar this will cut the grease down or have hubby take the line and empty it into a bucket, then wash with vinegar.
Green and your husband. Since he was the one that made the mess.
