Scooby's mom asked:
I would like to buy a Bosch dishwasher, but am concerned that I have heard they are not built with a heating element. I like my dishes to be heat dried, not air dried and am worried that this brand of washer can't do that. Also, if they do not have their own source of heat, does that mean they water used to clean the dishes does not get any hotter than what comes out of your water heater? I have had some difficulty getting this answer from appliance salespeople because of the brand. Thank you!

Since not long after I purchased this washer the grey rubber lining that you see when you open the machine has become more and more warped. It does not appear that the leak came from the back, so I suspect it came from the front through that rubber thing. I've tried searching online, but have only been able to find complaints about the washer, no help in fixing it. So I have two questions, does anyone know how to fix it, and how do I find a good appliance repair person that doesn't charge as much as the washer costs to replace?

Here is a recent in-house video we did for the Repair Clinic Folks:
When today's consumers buy new stoves, refrigerators and other major appliances, the usual choice isn't an installation contractor, but a home improvement or electronics warehouse store, which simply delivers the unit to the front door. Arranging for installation is now the homeowner's responsibility.
Installing the appliance themselves is the choice of increasing numbers of homeowners purchasing appliances in this way. For some appliances, DIY installation can cut the cost of an appliance by more than 50%. And equal cost-savings is achieved by the homeowner who is able to perform basic maintenance and repair tasks themselves.
DIY Guide to Appliances is a comprehensive guide to installing and performing basic maintenance on all major household appliances, including washers and dryers, refrigerators, garbage disposers, dishwashers, water heaters, ovens, ranges and more.
